An electric car's battery is by far the most expensive part, so replacing it means a huge bill. The good news, however, is that there are many practices you can put into place to ensure your electric car's battery lasts for hundreds of thousands of miles. This video seeks to not only understand what the best practices are for keeping your electric car's battery in good health, but also, the scientific reasons *why* these best practices are useful. We'll look at different causes of battery degradation, helpful tips for extending the life of your battery, and what scientific research says about he effects of various harmful parameters on battery health. The video will answer the following questions: 1) Why do batteries lose capacity over time? 2) What percentage should you store your battery at? 3) Is it okay to charge your electric car to 100%? 4) How often should you recharge your electric car? How to Inspect a Solar Farm with a Drone - DJI Matrice XT2

Claim Your FREE GUIDEBOOK to Maintaining Solar Assets with Drones 👇 https://bit.ly/3V3LI4P In this video we will be explaining step by step how to inspect a solar farm using a drone. We will start off by showing you how we first perform a physical walk through of each site looking for potential hazards and obstructions to the flight. We then examine the equipment for this particular inspection, and then we go through the best practices for solar drone inspections like obstructions to your flight, landing pads, and how to use a solar irradiance meter. Next we touch on the importance of understanding all the aspects of weather and how it impacts your solar inspection. Everything from moisture, humidity, snow, and wind are addressed and then we begin our flight planning. For this inspection we are using DJI GS Pro for flight planning and we will talk you through how to set up a flight plan, create the flight points, add the camera settings and pitch, the proper settings for the speed and altitude, and any “end of mission” actions we want to perform. Once the flight plan is set up we move into the thermography setup using DJI XT Pro. We will explain why we use each of the settings such as Radiometric JPEGs for taking images and the importance of keeping the applications running during the flight. Once the checklists are complete we take to the sky and fly the autonomous solar inspection flight. The entire flight today took just over 11 minutes to complete. Once the inspection is done we will take the drone back over the solar farm to show you what the anomalies look like on our thermal screen and explain the difference between the anomalies we found during the flight. #drone #dronemapping #dronesoftware ►Resources The Best Drones for Solar Inspections - https://thedronelifenj.com/solar-inspection-drones/ ►Equipment Used in this Video BT - 100 Pro Anemometer - https://amzn.to/3gH9O0c DBTU1300 Solar Irradiance Meter - https://amzn.to/2Y3FBSh ►Our Must-Have Drone Equipment Checklist ✅ Budget Friendly Ground Control Points (GCPs) - http://bit.ly/3nAT2pH ✅ Most Reliable SD Card for Drone Mapping - http://bit.ly/3lZOhWn ✅ Heavy Duty Landing Pad - http://bit.ly/3zt1hXA ✅ Collapsable Orange Safety Cones - http://bit.ly/40Tr2fp ✅ OSHA Certified Safety Vest -http://bit.ly/3KsycSt ✅ Wind Speed Anemometer Gauge - http://bit.ly/3ZCaYO5 ✅ Best Flight Planning Tablet - http://bit.ly/40Dci4q ✅ Handheld VHF Airband Transceiver - http://bit.ly/40AyLPP ►About The Drone Life The Drone Life is an industry-leading UAS service provider that provides turnkey aerial data solutions nationwide. CONTROLLING ELECTRICAL HAZARDS

We wanted to make a difference when we set out to create EPSCO OneMoment Electrical Safety Training. We wanted to make every workplace safer. We knew that electrical safety training needed to be about more than risks and government regulations. We knew that it needed to be about solutions. At EPSCO we understand that every single person at a facility plays a part in controlling electrical hazards. It might seem like a lot to tackle when you first dive in, but the NFPA 70E is full of strategies you can use. This week, we want to help you break down the steps in a way that makes it easy to understand and implement electrical hazard controls. The Hierarchy of Risk Controls is a system of six solutions for controlling electrical hazards. They can be used in any combination with each other to increase the level of safety at your facility. This week and next, our OneMoment online electrical safety series will cover these controls -- Starting with Elimination, then on to Substitution, Engineering Controls, Awareness, Administrative Controls, and Personal Protective Equipment. The safety solutions are listed in order of effectiveness. Elimination, at the top level, is considered the safest. Wearing proper PPE, at the bottom, is considered less reliable because of the human element. Elimination, Substitution, and Engineering Controls are focused on the equipment and workplace. While the effectiveness of Awareness, Administrative Controls, and PPE are based on each person on your team making these hazard control strategies part of their routine. The Hierarchy of Risk Controls separates the top three solutions into a category called Inherent Controls, while the bottom three are known as Dependent Controls. Our OneMoment online electrical safety series will help you understand the difference between the two categories and provide ideas on how each of the six approaches can be put into action to make your workplace safer. If you want to make sure everyone goes home safe after work, you can’t miss our videos this week! #epsco #electricalsafety #onemoment
